Art Davis, 71 of Salt Springs, FL, died on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta, Ohio. Born on July 14, 1935 in West Green, GA, he was the son of the late Henry Franklin and Zeffie Mae Dale Davis. Mr. Davis was a veteran of the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. He was a resident of Valdosta from 1957 until 2004 and had worked as a maintenance supervisor for Levi Straus. Mr. Davis was a member of the Church of Christ in Palatka, FL and a former member of the Dasher Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Lucille T. Davis of Salt Springs, FL; daughter and son-in-law, Tammie Kay and Dean Bobbitt of Williamstown, West Virginia; son and daughter-in-law, Art Wesley and Tonia Davis of Thomasville; grandchildren, Ryan Wesley Davis, Thomas (Tommy) Dean Davis, Margaret (Maggie) Ophelia Davis and Grant Davis Bobbitt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Thomas Wooten of Hazlehurst, Mary and James Carver of Douglas and Inez Lamb of Hickory, NC.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Dasher Church of Christ with Mr. David Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
