Arnold (A. M.) Corbett, 81, of Lake Park, died Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Heritage House. He was born in Redel, FL on May 15, 1931 to Warren Yancey Corbett and Emmie Rentha Crews Corbett. Mr. Corbett was a retired automobile mechanic from Sandlin's Garage and was a member of Loch Laurel Baptist Church. He was a hero to his son.
Mr. Corbett is survived by his son, Maynard Corbett of Valdosta, three daughters and one son in law, Kathy and Steve Hunter of St. Louis, MO, Patricia Bennett of Stockton and Linda Kline of Moultrie, grandsons, Jack Arnold and his wife, Petita of Valdosta and Austin Ray Corbett of Valdosta, great granddaughter, Jaley Arnold, several other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, sisters and brothers in law, Myra and John Miller of Lake Park, Inez and Dallas Neighbors of SC, sisters in law, Bessie Corbett of Jasper, FL, Mary Corbett of Lake Park, Sally Peavy of Ocilla and brother in law, Milton Sheppard. He is preceded in death by four brothers, Ira Corbett, Huey Corbett, Howard Corbett and Marvin Corbett, one sister, Margie Sheppard and one grandson, James Marshall Corbett.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2012 at eleven a. m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park with Reverend Milton Sellars officiating. Burial will follow in Carter Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the family. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home.
