ARMOND M. THOMAS, SR., 83, of Twin Lakes died Tuesday, September 13, 2005 at the Fellowship Home after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 27, 1922 in New River, Florida to the late William and Avoy Thomas and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Thomas was retired from Owens Illinois and a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Presbyterian Church and the Valdosta Shriners.
Survivors include one son, Timmy Thomas of Twin Lakes, one daughter and son in law, Lynette and John Graves of Huntsville, Ala., five grandchildren and their spouses, Melanie and Mark Ellis of Valdosta, Matt and Jasmine Graves of Huntsville, Ala., Mandy and Justin Anderson of Valdosta, Ken and Kim Graves of Birmingham, Ala., Mark and Heather Graves of Austin, TX., one brother, Woodrow Thomas of Tennessee, several great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Conway Thomas.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday, September 16, 2005 in the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home Chapel in Lake Park with the Rev. John Akers officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2pm at Crosby Lake Cemetery in Starke, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Twin Lakes Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity.
