Archie "Fred" English

Archie (Fred) English, 78, of Lake Park died at home on Thursday, October 15, 2009 after a lengthy illness. Born on March 5, 1931 in Bibb County, he was the son of the late Berry and Eunice Briggs English. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and was retired from the FAA . Mr. English was a member of Lake Park United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty K. English of Lake Park; son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lisa English of Lake Park; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jim Lyons of Valdosta; grandson, Larry Joe English and Angela Kelley of Valdosta; granddaughter, Angela and Michael Smith of Jacksonville, FL; great-grandson, Dylan English and Garrett English of Stockton; brother, Wallace English of Macon; niece, Kim English of Macon, nephews, Kenny English of Utah and Keith English of Macon.

Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at Lake Park Cemetery with Dr. William P. Warnock officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 3 until 5 P.M. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home in Lake Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of South Georgia or Lake Park United Methodist Church.
