Archie Butler

January 31, 1914 — February 11, 2006

Archie Butler, 92 of Valdosta, died on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman after a short illness. Born on January 31, 1914 in Sumter, SC, he was the son of the late Roman D. and Lula May Hodge Butler. Mr. Butler drove a public bus for Mr. Zant for several years and later operated his own bus service. He was a loving brother and uncle.

Survivors are one sister and brother-in-law, Allie Inez Butler Zipperer and Lawrence E. Zipperer of Valdosta and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tracy M. Butler, Roy D. Butler and W. Harry Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 14, 2006 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Watkins and Rev. Aaron Kight officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
