Antonia Felicia Ostapski

Antonia Felicia Ostapski, 98, died on November 19, 2018. She was born on October 10, 1920 in Recklinghausen, Germany to the late August Mueller and Maria Rozmiarek Mueller. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Mrs. Ostapski, better known as Oma, was a pediatric nurse, who later treated patients in a tuberculosis ward. She survived World War II. She was married to the late Mieczyslaw Ostapki for 61 years. After the war, she moved to Belgium and, then, later to the United States, where she lived in Jersey City, New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Florida, and spent the last ten years of her life in Valdosta, Georgia. Oma loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren. She spoke four languages fluently and greatly enjoyed reading. She was knowledgeable in so many things because she was curious to learn whatever she could that might benefit others.
Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, S. Andrew and Maribel Ostapski; two grandchildren, Victoria and Andrea Ostapski, all of Valdosta. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mieczyslaw Ostapski, two sisters, Sally Lutterbeck and Lillie Fretwurst, and one brother, August Mueller, Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 23, 2018, a Eulogy at 10:45 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow at McLane Riverview Mausoleum.
Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff with Langdale Hospice House of South Georgia for their love, care, and support. Charitable donations may be made to the Humane Society of Valdosta.
