Anthony Christian DeFilippo, 54, of Valdosta, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 17, 2016.
He was born December 26, 1961 in Bayonne, NJ. Chris loved music, playing his guitars, reading and learning history. He was a self-taught craftsman; enjoyed working and being outdoors, especially in the summer. Most of all Chris loved his family; he was a devoted and loving son and brother, he and his mother had a very special relationship - they were best friends; he cherished spending time with his nieces and nephew. He was always there to lend a hand, self-less, generous, reliable, sensitive and caring, and above all else, humble. Chris was also very spiritual and a philosopher.
Chris is survived by his mother, Leona Green of Valdosta; sister, Kelly Green of Valdosta; step-father, Grady Green of Ray City; two nieces and a nephew, Abigaile Vasquez, Andrew Vasquez and Annalee Ledbetter; his maternal grandmother, Ann Zaszewski of Bayonne, NJ; many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends; his companion, Carol Bassford of Valdosta; and his canine companion, Skippy. He was preceded in death by his father, Anthony DeFilippo; maternal grandfather, Leo Zaszewski; and an uncle, Thomas Zaszewski.
