Annie Swindle, 79, of Valdosta died Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born on December 21, 1928 in Fitzgerald to the late John Amos and Jessie Lee Worth Rogers and lived in this area all of her life. Mrs. Swindle was a retired Home Care Giver and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter and son in law, Barbara and Timmy Bennett of Valdosta, five sons and two daughters in law, Thomas Smith of Macon, Dennis and Cheryl Smith of Valdosta, Calvin Smith of Tifton, James and Debbie Smith of Valdosta and John Smith of Boston, Mass., twelve grandchildren, Sarah Bennett, Tracy Bennett, Randy Smith, Trevor Smith, Brett Smith, Misty Brooks, Jerret Smith, Tara Williams, Dana Crosby, Dustin Smith, Justin Smith and Ashley Frier and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Jones and Ruby Skinner and her brothers, Johnny Rogers and Bobby Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm, Monday, November 10, 2008 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Skip Van Nus officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm at the funeral home.
