Annie ("Nealie") Blackburn Register, 88, of Morven, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at Lakehaven Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late George and Alice Booth Blackburn. Mrs. Register had lived in Valdosta and Morven since 1943 and had been a charter member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker, a member of Morven United Methodist Church and Georgia Power Ambassadors.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Willis Register, and one granddaughter, Candace Register. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Jan Register of Fayetteville, GA, and Gary and Sandy Register of Abingdon, VA; two granddaughters, Natalie Register of Fayetteville, GA, and Hillary Register of Carrollton, GA; one grandson, Brent Register of Oxford, OH; one great-granddaughter, Tatianna Bishop of Fayetteville, GA; one sister-in-law, Vera Register of Gainesville, FL; and two step sisters-in-law, Teeny Cowart of Richmond Hill, GA, and Frances Long of Albany, GA.
The Funeral Service for Mrs. Register will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Thomas Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.
