Annie Mae Mayne Brasher, 99, of Valdosta, died Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Heritage Health Care. Born on August 2, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Charlie E. and Annie Bell Mayne of Naylor. Annie Mae was a member of Unity Primitive Baptist Church and was a very active member until her health declined. She received her teaching degree in 1933 from Georgia State Woman's College and taught at Pine Grove High School.
Along with her parents, Annie Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Herman Louis Brasher and a brother, A.C. Mayne. Survivors include one son, Herman L. (LaRita) Brasher, Jr., daughter, Barbara B. (Ronald) Crews all of Valdosta; grandchildren, Lori B. (John) Everett of Thomasville, Julie B. (Edward) Blodgett of Valdosta and Jan Brasher of Valdosta, Becky C. (Brad) Harrrison of Macon, Blake A. Crews and fiancé, Shaina Gauthier of Brunswick; great grandchildren, Ashley Blodgett and Coleman Pollock of Valdosta, Harrison Stewart, Anderson Everett and Owen Everett of Thomasville; a very close dear friend, Ava Nell Dennis and her Langdale Place family and staff.
Annie Mae was a very generous, loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Carson McLane Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Elder Jim Smith officiating. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane Funeral Home.
