Annie Laurie Goff, 85, of Valdosta died on Monday, August 22, 2005, at her home. She was born on July 10, 1920 in Madison, Florida and had lived in Valdosta for 52 years. Mrs. Goff was a member of Grace Baptist Church, a dedicated Christian mother and grandmother. Mrs. Goff was an avid fisherman. She and her husband, the late S.E. “Boss” Goff, Jr., owned and operated Oyster Bar Fish Market in Valdosta for many years.
Survivors are her sons and daughters in law, Everett and Cherry Goff of Ocala, Florida, Fred and Mary Nell Goff of Valdosta, Robert and Sissy Goff of Valdosta; eight grandchildren, James and Maria Goff of Canton, Tommy and Jill Goff of Naples, Florida, Kerry and John Mercier of Ocala, Florida, Brenna and Jock Taylor of Nashville, Freddie and Jana Goff, Ward and Julie Holton and Joy Goff, Dixon and Kristi Goff of Valdosta. Great Grandchildren include, Cristina, Emily and James Goff, Summer, Saralyn and Sierra Goff, Anna Joy, Emily and Wade Holton, Julia Taylor, Kaysie Goff and Rebekah, Sarah and Rachel Mercier; a brother and sister in law, T. F. Arnold and Kitty of Orlando, Florida, and sister in law, Marion Arnold of Madison, Florida. Mrs. Goff was also preceded in death by several sisters and brothers.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Robertson officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Waft Radio 215 Waft Hill Lane Valdosta, Georgia, 31602.
