ANNIE JUANIECE FLETCHER STERLING, 89, of Valdosta died Monday in Cordova, Tennessee. She was born on March 2, 1917 in Valdosta to the late James LaFayette and Annie McLeod Fletcher and was a lifelong resident of Valdosta. Mrs. Sterling was a member of the Forrest Park Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter and son in law, Gayle S. and Tim Lavender of Collierville, TN., stepdaughter and stepson in law, Shera S. and Bucky Floyd of Savannah, four grandchildren and their spouses, Brigitte L. and Cory Russell, Melinda Brooke Lightsey of Valdosta, Wayne Earl and Becky Thompson, Michael Sterling and Felicia Thompson all of Raleigh, NC., five great grandchildren, Sarah Sterling Russell, Lance Michael Thompson, Sierra Thompson, Cody Thompson and Lindsay Thompson. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. C. Sterling, three sisters, Lena Mae Roberts, Ila Pearl Russell, Harriette Peters and three brothers, Troy Fletcher, Herbert Fletcher and Oliver Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, January 25, 2007 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Broome and Mr. Forrest Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 7-9pm at the funeral home.
