Annie Jewell Wright Mcleod

Annie Jewell Wright McLeod, 88, of Valdosta died Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. She was born on December 2, 1928 in Hahira to the late William G. and Annie Lou Hammond Wright. Mrs. McLeod was retired from ITT Metal Products, a retired homemaker and a member of Rosedale Church of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, step father, Ransome Bass, husband, James Alvin McLeod, Sr., daughter, Martha Jean Simmons, son, Robert Jackson McLeod, brothers, Morris Wright and Jim Wright, sisters, Lucille Sutton, Louise Kokotis, Margie Hill and son in law, Lawton Gaskins.
Mrs. McLeod is survived by her children and their spouses, Albert and Sandra McLeod of Barney, Allen and Ellen McLeod, Rose Gaskins, Alton (Peanut) McLeod, James and Christine McLeod, all of Valdosta, twelve grandchildren, twenty eight great grandchildren and seventeen great great grandchildren, her special pet, Tanner and special friend, Lorine Johns.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Bishop Robert Crosby officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
