Annie Earline Suggs

Annie Earline Suggs, 76, of Mayday, went to be with our Lord on July 9, 2007. She was born January 26, 1931 in Terra Ceia, Manatee County, FL to the late Jesse P. and Bessie Terrell Smith. On June 13, 1948, she married Freeman Suggs at Bethany Baptist Church in Manatee County, FL. In 2007, she and Freeman celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary surrounded by all four of their children. Earline, as she preferred to be called, spent her early years of marriage as a homemaker, mother and wife. After her children were grown, she decided to work outside her home. She retired from Bank of America, formerly Ellis National Bank, in Bradenton, FL, March 31, 1985, where she worked in the Trust Department.
Mrs. Suggs was always an active member in the churches she attended. She served as Records Clerk at Bethany Baptist Church and Braden River Baptist church, both in Manatee County, FL, and Hardeetown Baptist Church in Chiefland, FL, before moving her membership to Macedonia Baptist Church in Echols County, GA. She also enjoyed being a member of the Echols County Historical Society.

She is survived by her husband Freeman, four children; son and daughter in law, Daniel Freeman & Angela Suggs of West Jefferson, N.C., daughters and sons in law, Deborah Allen of Mayday, Dale & Rob Ormond of Sarasota, FL, Darinda & Martin Knudstrup of Bradenton, FL; two sisters, Nelma Moore of Mayday, B.J. Whitman of Bethany, FL. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, five step grandchildren, four great granddaughters and one great grandson.
Her loss is deeply felt by her family and friends, but her vital spirit and love will continue to live on in all of them.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 12, at 11 a.m. in the Carson McLane Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, 6 until 8 p.m. Burial will follow in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Manatee County, FL at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13.
