Annette Moree Courson, of Hahira, died Monday, May 21, 2018 at Langdale Hospice House. Born in Morven in September of 1934, she celebrated her 83rd birthday last September 19th. She was a daughter of the late Guss Moree, Sr. and Avie Roberts Moree. Retired from Texture Tex, Mrs. Courson had worked as a dietician at Smith Hospital. She and her late husband, Hollis M. Courson owned and operated several rental properties, and had previously owned a dry cleaners in Hahira. Mrs. Courson loved her family. She was a member of Friendship Primitive Baptist Church and was an avid gardner.
Mrs. Courson is survived by her son and daughter and law, Mike and Susan Courson of Valdosta, her daughter, Ruby Riesinger of Hahira, five grandchildren, Matthew Courson, Adam Courson (Jessica Kruse), Kyle Riesinger, Christian Riesinger and Caitlyn Riesinger, four great grandchildren, Antony Martino, Rhiannon Courson, Paige Courson and Emma Courson, two sisters, Cecilia Raul and Nell Yeomans and sister in law, Helen Courson, all of Valdosta, several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, D. Wade Courson, sisters, Lois Hardman, Evelyn Hardman and Christine Parker and brother, Guss Moree.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2018 at eleven a. m. at the Martin McLane Funeral Home in Hahira with Elder Thad Marshall officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery. The family will receive friends from six until eight p. m. Thursday at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
