Annette Kelley, 67, of Valdosta, died on Monday, November 5, 2012, at the Heritage House Nursing Home. Born in Nashville on July 27, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Aubrey H. Kelley, Sr. and Doris Evelyn May Kelley. Ms. Kelley was a graduate of Valdosta High School in 1963, Valdosta State College in 1969 and University of Georgia in 1974 she also attended Florida State University in 1997. Ms. Kelley was a licensed and clinical social worker, was a member of the Academy of Certified Clinical Social Workers, was the president and founder of South Georgia Association of Social Workers and was awarded the Certificate of Appreciation from Valdosta State University School of Social Workers. She also received the National Kidney Foundation Distinguished Service Award and was active in several communities throughout south and central Georgia. Ms. Kelley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
Survivors are her brother, Aubrey H. Kelley, Jr. of Brunswick; two nephews, Matthew Kelley of Valdosta and Greg Kelley of Hawkinsville; four nieces, Brandi Kelley of Milledgeville, Patricia J. Sewell of Savannah, Mary E. Day of Delafield, WI and Gretta Kelley Wright of Perry.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 11 a.m. at Beaver Dam Cemetery. Reverend Benny Olliff will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
