Annah Lou Dukes, 70, of Statenville, died on Friday, January 26, 2007 at her residence. Born on January 1, 1937, in Hamilton County, FL, she was the daughter of the late Willie M. and Ella Aileen Smith Willis. Mrs. Dukes worked for almost ten years in food service for Echols County Schools. Her fellow workers greatly assisted her in the kitchens at the schools. She was a member of Statenville United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Dukes is survived by her husband of 51 years, Donald Dukes of Statenville; daughter and son-in-law, Tonda and Scott Ramsey of Ranger; grandchildren, Ben and Liz Ramsey of Canton, Lauren Ramsey of Ball Ground, Adam Ramsey of Marietta; great grandson, Elijah Ramsey of Ball Ground; sister, Willene Drury of Jasper, FL; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Brenda Lehman of Lake Park, Frances and Bob Bachne of Orange Park, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Aldean and Ann Dukes of Dasher and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Billy Willis and Charles Willis.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 2007 in the chapel of the McLane Lakewood Funeral Home with Reverend Fred Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Statenville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
