Anna Maria Dembkowski

January 16, 1946 β€” June 24, 2021

On 24 June 2021, Anna Maria Dembkowski of Valdosta passed away at 75 years of age.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 38 years, Richard; her children; Ronald (Rhonda) and Terry; her grandchildren; Kara (Alton), Julie (Steven), and Zachary. Anna also leaves behind three great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Graham, and Lane; her uncle, Josef Ewerhart, brother, Philip Reiske (Jutta), cousin, Margo Bates, and her niece and nephews Caroline, Ewalt, and Alfred. She was predeceased by her mother Angela, of Ernzen, Germany.

Born in Ernzen, Germany, on January 16, 1946, Anna was known by those closest to her to be strong and independent who stood firmly in what she believed in. Her strength and perseverance were demonstrated in her immigration to the United States, her 20+ years as a military wife, and her survival of esophageal cancer. She was unwavering in her love for her husband Richard, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Anna adored her pets, Winnie, and Oscar. She enjoyed fishing with Richard and often reminded the family of her 11.6 lb. Largemouth Bass caught on a Zebco 33, yellow fishing line, and a purple worm. Anna held the family fish record. Anna enjoyed meticulous preparations of meals for those welcomed into her home, and spending time with friends and family. Anna was an avid self-taught gardener, and she will be remembered by most as having the most beautiful garden in town. She will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to your local Humane Society.

β€œShe made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings.” – Ariana Dancu
