Anna C. Jensen Brown

Anna C. Jensen Brown, age 96, died August 20, 2015. She departed this life to begin it anew with family, in the presence of our Lord. Born November 15, 1918 in Palmetto , Florida she was the second eldest child of Neils K. and Cora Belle Jensen. She graduated from Palmetto High School and married William "Billy" Alexander Brown of Dublin, Georgia. A daughter, Anna Rebecca Brown was born of their marriage. For the majority of her adult life, Anna C. (as she was affectionately known) resided in Tampa, Florida where her husband was in the produce business and she worked as a lunch room manager for the local school system.
After Billy's early death in 1966, she took over his business and owned Sun Coast Tomato Company for many years. Anna C. was the sole owner, when business was "a man's world." She was surrounded by businessmen and devoted employees who provided advice, guidance and encouragement.
Anna C. had a lifelong love of cooking, and nothing could make her happier than to entertain family and friends. She was noted for taking homemade cakes and banana bread to all of her doctors, medical staff, hairdressers, neighbors and family. We were all very blessed to know her and she will be missed by many.
After her retirement in 1989, Anna C. and her daughter moved to Lake Park, Georgia where they enjoyed living on Francis Lake, in semi-retirement.
She is survived by a younger sister, Cora Jensen of De Bary, Florida; her niece and nephew-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. McMullen, Sr. of Lake Park; and many other beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lakehaven Nursing Home for many years of wonderful care and many deeds of extra kindness given to their beloved Anna C.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Lake Park Church of Christ 910 Long Pond Rd Lake Park GA 31636.
