Ann Golden Embry

Ann Golden Embry, 70, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on November 30, 1947 in Tifton, GA to the late William Herschel Golden, Sr. and Lillian Murial Honaker Golden. Ann was a retired Event Coordinator with the Rainwater Conference Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was a former Interim Music Director and Handbell Director. Ann was a lifelong musician. She was a member of the Valdosta Choral Guild and served as past president.
Ann is survived by her husband, Billy Embry of Valdosta, four children, Debbie Hamlin (Barney) of Fitzgerald, Bo Willis (Lisa) of Conyers, Kim Shiver of Valdosta, Chris Embry (Michelle) of Rincon, grandchildren, Leigh Anne Hamlin, Taylor Willis, Lindsay Willis, Bridgette Redding (Michael Craft), Cole Shiver, Katy Zan Embry, Julia Embry, Ellie Embry and Kyle Armstrong, two great grandchildren, Jace Woods and Jack Woods, brother, Billy Golden (Peggy) of Covington, sister, Lynn Nolan (Calvin) of Valdosta. She is preceded in death by her brother and sister in law, Don and Debbie Golden and her first husband, Johnny Willis.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2018 at four p. m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Chuck Owens and Reverend Mac Weaver officiating. She will be placed in the church at three p. m. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from five until seven p. m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
