Ann Bell Carter Brickhouse, 80, of Valdosta, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. She was born on August 18, 1944, in Fort Pierce, Florida, and moved to Valdosta at a young age. Ann attended Valdosta City Schools before marrying and starting her family. A dedicated and hardworking mother, Ann supported her children by working at Texture Tex and later at Crackin' Good Bakery for 35 years. She then contributed her time at LARC until her retirement. Ann was a cherished member of YAYA Beach Girls and found joy in spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter. In her leisure, she enjoyed watching crime dramas and movies on television.
Survived by her son Steve (Terry) Brickhouse of Jacksonville, FL, her daughter Pam (Mike) Richardson of Brooks, GA, her grandchildren Alex (Brittnee) Brickhouse, James Brickhouse, Jon (Kyra) Richardson, and David (Shelby) Richardson as well as her great-granddaughter Anna Grace Richardson. Ann was preceded in death by her parents Bonney Carter and Connie Bell Coker Carter, son David Earl Brickhouse, sister Mattie Moxley, and brother Vernon Carter.
A funeral service to honor Ann's life will be held at 11 am on Monday, April 7, 2025, in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend Wayne Boykin officiating. Following the service, burial will take place at Sunset Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10-11 am. Online condolences can be shared at www.mclanecares.com
