Ann Callahan Bennett, 76, of Valdosta, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at her home. She was born on December 13, 1947, to the late William (Bill) and Ruth Callahan Pittman. She graduated in 1966 from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, FL.
After moving to Valdosta, she met and married the love of her life, Jerry Bennett. She owned and operated a home day care for 25 years. She enjoyed many travels with Jerry and the company she worked for, MSIS. She loved attending the grandkids’ activities, watching the Braves and college football. She cherished her grandkids and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Jerry; her father Bill Callahan, mother Ruth Pittman, stepfather Clifford Pittman. She was also preceded in death by her brother Jerry Callahan, mother-in-law, Selma McCranie, brothers-in-law Jack Bennett and Johnny Bennett, and sister-in-law, Jane Bennett.
Ann is survived by her children, Jason (Heather) Bennett of Palatka, FL, Missy (Bobby) Bennett, of Valdosta, and Justin (Alisha) Bennett, of Redmond, OR; her grandchildren, Kaylee (Shane), Brooks, Sutherlin, Briggs (Skylar), and McKenna; and her great grandchildren, Emmie Grace and Ryleigh Ann.
The family would like to thank her special friends Gloria and Henry Hicks.
Per her wishes there will be no services, and a private entombment will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens.
