Angelo Christiano, 100, of Hahira died Monday, November 10, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Brooklyn, New York on January 14, 1914 to the late Vito and Lucia Murro Christiano and had lived in Hahira for many years. Mr. Christiano was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and had recently been attending St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Ray City. He was employed with Grumman Corporation where he constructed and maintained the F-4's and F-6's Aircraft during the war and later worked for Nassau County, New York Government. He enjoyed bowling and spending time with his family.
Survivors include two sons and daughters in law, Tony and Jeanne Christiano of Hahira, Bill and Linda Christiano of Floral Park, NY; three grandsons, Bob Christiano of Orlando, FL; Mike Christiano of St. Louis, MO; and Don (Angela) Christiano of Hahira; six great grandchildren, Nick, Zach, Abbi, Liz, Ashley and Ariel, two great great granddaughters, Aryannah and Katherine Jeanne; numerous nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his two wives, Lisa Janet Fazio Christiano and Ruth May Rottenberger Christiano and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11am, Friday, November 14, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Brian LaBurt and Father Fredy Angel serving as celebrants. The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home at 6pm with rosary to be held at 7pm with visitation following until 8pm.
