Andy E. Squires, 75, of Quitman, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017. He was born in Albany, GA on August 6, 1942 to the late Andrew Pinkney Squires and Carolyn Weston Squires. Andy retired from Pepsi-Cola. He loved to make people laugh and smile. He was a collector of many things. His life calling was as the President and Co-founder of the Azalea City Prison Ministry and Refuge of Hope. He spent over 35 years serving God as a minister in prisons and jails.
Andy is survived by his wife Bonnie Squires, his daughters Betty Ann (Payton) NeSmith, of Boston, Andrea (Mike) Slawinski, of Valdosta, Audrey (William) Rogers, of Lake Park, Michelle (Mike) Hilton, of Marietta, and Lynn (Greg) Martin, of Valdosta, his sons, Bo (Candi) Yeomans, of Quitman, and Joel (Lloyah) Melton, of Valdosta, eleven grandsons, and three granddaughters, his sisters Marie (Gary) Wood, and Ellen McCarthy, his brother David Squires, and sister Lydia (John) Keene, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister Claire Spriggs-Marrs.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 1 p.m. at The Refuge of Hope Chapel in Quitman with Rev. Bobby Tatum officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
