Andrew Denmark

Andrew Denmark, 48, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at Emory University Hospital following a short illness. Born in Albany on July 22, 1973, Andrew grew up in Valdosta and graduated from Valdosta High School in 1992. He then served a tour in the U.S. Navy. He then returned to Valdosta and joined the Valdosta Police Department. A few years later he moved to the Lowndes County Sheriffs Office and worked for more than a decade for the LCSO. He left the Sheriffs Office to join the DEA (U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency) and worked there for 5 years before retiring from Law Enforcement in 2014. He then started an Insurance Agency primarily selling Farmers Insurance, which he operated until the current time. Andrew loved outdoor activities such as hunting or handyman construction projects. He was also an amazing cook, specializing in lasagna which worked well with his love for entertaining others.
Survivors include his wife, Stacy Denmark of Valdosta, a son, Braydon Denmark and a daughter, MaKenna Denmark, both of Valdosta, another son, Tristan Butler of Valdosta; his mother, Pat Denmark of Valdosta; two sisters and brothers in law, Melissa & Bruce Wetherington, of Marietta and Deania & Myles Johnson of Dudley. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and his beloved companion, Remy Nash Denmark. He is preceded in death by his father, Glenn Denmark.
The funeral for Andrew will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 4, 2021 in the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Rev. Tommy Bussey will officiate. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon from 4 until 6 pm.
