Andrew ( Andy) Kinard, 77, of Valdosta, died on Monday, November 13, 2006, at South Georgia Medical Center following a short illness. Born in Valdosta on July 9, 1929, he was the son of the late P.K. and Blanche Kinard. Mr. Kinard was a veteran of the the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was an Insurance Adjustor and a member of the Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
An active member of the BPOE #728 Elks Club, he was twice Exalted Ruler and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler. He served as Treasurer and Secretary of the Elks for a number of years and served on the Board of The Elks Aidmore Childrens Home. Mr. Kinard was a Mason, St. John The Baptist Lodge #184, a Shriner, President of the local Shrine Club and a Jester. He was Potentate of the Hasan Temple. Mr. Kinard managed and participated in the Top Hats Band which toured the Southeast.
Survivors are his wife of 54 years, Edith Kinard of Valdosta, daughter and son in law, Kathy K. and Frank Dallas of Lake Park, daughter, Cindy Kinard of Valdosta, grandchildren, Andrea Sale of Lake Park, Lauren Dallas of Lake Park, Tyler Dallas of Lake Park; great grandchildren, Jayden and Hallie Sale of Lake Park; sisters in law and brother in law, Bernice and Russell P. Wise, Doris Gribbins of Louisville, Kentucky, brother in law and sister in law, Aleck and Betty Gribbins of Louisville, Kentucky, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home. Lynwood Davis and members of the Elks Lodge will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites at the graveside. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Hasan Shriners Childrens Transportation Fund, 1822 Palmyra Rd., Albany, GA 31701.
