Amos Hall, Jr.

January 26, 1938 — November 29, 2017

Amos Hall, Jr., 79, of Valdosta, passed away on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Anniston, Alabama on January 26, 1938 to the late Amos, Sr. and Annie Pearl Coleman Hall. Mr. Hall retired from the United States Air Force after 26 years of honorable service. He served in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star, Vietnam service medal, and the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross just to name a few. He was decorated and awarded numerous medals and citations during his time in the Air Force and upon retirement, entered into the government civil service where he continued his outstanding achievements and service to our country for 15 years. Mr. Hall was very active in the local and Moody communities and was a member of the Moody Chapel where he sang in the choir, was a member of the local 30 Club, and past Commander of VFW Post #3835.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Linda C. Hall of Valdosta; his children and their spouses, Patricia Ann Brown of Evanston, Illinois, Harold Hall and Sheila Bounds of Belton Texas, Donna and Jerry Abernathy of Ashburn, Virginia, and Amos III and Catherine Hall of Brandon, Florida; his grandchildren, Pierre Evans, Nailah Abernathy, Jasmyn Hall, and Chad Hall; his great-grandchild, Zayden Talbert, and a host of relatives and friends.
A private family memorial service for Amos Hall, Jr. will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell Florida with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
