Alvin Levi Pace, 89, of Valdosta passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015 at his home with his family and friends by his side. He was born on April 22, 1926 in Tryon, Polk County, NC to the late Greenberry Lotan Pace and Dara Malonie Waters Pace. Mr. Pace served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was retired from Norfolk Southern Railway Company after forty years of service. Mr. Pace was a member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of sixty six years, Myrtle Lee Melton Pace, two sons, Alvin Pace, Jr. and Andy Pace, both of Valdosta, his loyal companion, Dolly, two brothers, Frank Pace and Carl Pace and his sister, Ruth Foy.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at two thirty p. m. in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Reverend David Tart officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from one until two thirty p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
