Althea Jean Rogers

Althea Jean Rogers, 59, of Hazlehurst, GA, formerly of Valdosta, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2014 at Jeff Davis Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 16, 1955 in St. Louis, MO to the late Thomas Antone and Hattie Neva Wallace Quick. Ms. Rogers love to play the piano and dance, read, and her whiskey sours. She was known for her spaghetti and her wonderful sense of humor. She was a homemaker that enjoyed spending as much time with her family including her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews. She was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church and loved the Lord.

Althea is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John Adam and Denice Rogers of Augusta, GA; her daughter Althea Eve Taylor and her fiancé Lee Kirkland of Valdosta; five grandchildren, Aria Rogers of Germany, Christina Rogers of Valdosta, Neva Mullis of Valdosta, Kara Mullis of Valdosta, and Alexander Drue Taylor of Pinetta, FL; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Butch and Pam Quick, Jerry Quick, Don and Sandy Quick, David and Diane Quick all of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband Paul Edward Rogers.

Althea Rogers will be cremated with no formal services. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to help pay for funeral expenses.
