Althea Brannen Sterling

Althea B. Sterling, 82, of Griffin, formerly of Valdosta, died on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at the Brightmoor Hospice House. She was born in Quitman, GA on November 11, 1929 and was the daughter of the late James L. Brannen and Effie Parrish Brannen. Althea was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Pam and Ron Healan of Griffin, GA ; grandson and his wife, Chris and Ashley Healan of Jefferson, GA; granddaughter and her husband: Lauren and Jason Hutchison of McDonough, GA; great-grandchildren, Sterling Healan, Nathan Healan, Anna Hutchison and Cole Hutchison; and a sister-in-law, Tyra Sowell of Jacksonville, FL. Althea was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Sterling.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Valdosta. Rev. Douglas M. Reddick and Rev. Bob Willis will officiate. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 - 11 a.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
