Alonzo Getson Grice

Alonzo Getson Grice, 87, a lifelong resident of Valdosta, GA died Tuesday,
March 22, 2005 at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, GA where
he had been a resident since March 2, 2005. He was born on March 8, 1918 in
Berrien County, Georgia to the late Bunyan Getson and Martha Mathis Grice.
Mr. Grice was a retired Carpenter and a member of the Bemiss Road Baptist
Church. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II, a Life Member of the VFW and the
Carpenter's Union.

Mr. Grice was twice married first to the late Lucy Marie Lester Grice and
second to the late Gladys Coppage Grice. Survivors include sons, Larry
Grice of Crawford, GA, Wesley Grice of Winterville, GA, son and
daughter-in-law Gary and Sherron Grice of Watkinsville, GA; two
step-daughters, Sara Lee Stone and family of Lakeland, GA and Frances
Whiddon and family of Denham Springs, LA, three grandchildren, three
great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and eight step
great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Thursday, March 24, 2005 at Bemiss
Road Baptist Church, Valdosta. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. The
family will receive friends on Thursday from 10am until service time. The
family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the Bemiss
Road Baptist Church or the First Presbyterian Church, Break Bread Together
