Alma Ruth Luke

Alma Ruth Luke, 72, of Lake Park died Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Langdale Hospice House. She was born on August 15, 1935 in Dupont to the late Benjamin James and Seepha Register Hughes and had lived in this area all of her life. Mrs. Luke was a member of the Lake Park First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Charles V. Luke of Lake Park, five daughters and sons in law, Teresa and Tommy Parkerson of Lake Park, Stephanie and Ben Harrison, Cindy and David Harrison, Lyniece and Michael Thorp, Jan and Jeff Abbott all of Valdosta, three sons and two daughters in law, Stanley and Martha Luke of Nashville, Timmy and Holly Luke of Lake Park and Chuck Luke of Valdosta, 17-grandchildren, 14-great grandchildren, one sister and brother in law, Doris and Sam Jacobs of Pomona Park, Fla. She was preceded in death by Earl and Choma Lastinger who raised her and a brother, James R. Register.

Funeral services will be held at 4pm, Thursday, August 14, 2008 at the Northside Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Dawson, Rev. Edward Hurst and Rev. Richard Powell officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
