Allison G. Porter, Jr.

Allison G. Porter, Jr. (Ace), 88, of Twin Lakes, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021 at Langdale Hospice House. The family lived at Twin Lakes for over sixty years. He worked at the PCA papermill for over 43 years. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and playing golf. Mr. Porter loved the North GA Mountains where they had a vacation retreat. He was born on January 26, 1933 in Tuscaloosa, AL to the late Allison Gilroy Porter, Sr. and Ophelia Porter. Mr. Porter served in the United States Navy and was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Park.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Porter, sons, Mike Porter, Tony Porter, Randy Porter (Donna), daughter, Gail Hughes (Chris) all of Lake Park, sister, Betty Mitchell of Cantonment, FL, grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor of Round Rock, TX, Kasey Lucas (Jerome), Logan Johnson (Trent), Brandy Ridley (David), Amanda Hartman (Yancey), all of Lake Park, Kyle Porter of Riverview, FL and Christopher Hughes (Amanda) of Jennings, FL and Danny Porter (Melissa) of FL, and fifteen great grandchildren. Mr. Porter is preceded in death by his sister, Doris Jennings of Cantonment, FL and brother, Warren Finney of Tuscaloosa, AL.
A graveside funeral service will be held Thursday, December 2, 2021 at eleven a. m. at Lake Park Cemetery with Reverend Yancey Hartman, Reverend Stanley Luke and Reverend Robert Dawson officiating. Burial will follow. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at www.mclanecares.com.
A special “THANKS” to Amedisys Home Healthcare- nurses Courtlain and Tonya for the special care they helped provide, Hospice of South GA and Langdale Hospice House. Also, to Reverend Robert Dawson, Daniel Holmes and longtime friend Charles Luke. He loved his family and will be greatly missed.
