Allie Guess Webb, 93, of Hahira, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Smith Northview Hospital. She was born on July 27, 1912 in Fitzgerald, GA to the late A. B. Guess, Sr. and Phoebie Gunby Guess. Mrs. Webb was employeed by Burdine’s Department Store in Fort Lauderdale, FL, was a member of Hahira United Methodist Church and was very active in First Methodist Church in Fort Lauderdale where she lived for forty five years with her husband of almost seventy years, the late James G. “Whit” Webb. He preceded her in death on February 22, 2005. She sang in the church choir, was active in her circle and was president twice of the Methodist Ladies Missionary Society. Mrs. Webb was the best wife and mother anyone could ever wish for. She set the standard for graciousness, goodness and kindness and leaves that legacy for her child, grandchildren and great grandchildren to follow. She greeted everyone with a smile. She will be missed.

Mrs. Webb is survived by her daughter and son in law, Patricia Webb Edwards and Major General Jay T. Edwards, Ret. Of Oklahoma City, OK, grandson and his wife, Whit and Rosie Edwards and their childen, Blair Kersenbrock and her husband Ben, Haley Dennison and her husband Ryan and Jay Edwards, granddaughter and her husband, Linda Edwards McNabb and Lynn McNabb and their children, Ross and Dana McNabb, granddaughter and her husband, Lisa Edwards Reynolds and Rob Reynolds and their children, Joey and Julie Reynolds, one sister, Phoebie Slocum of Valdosta, one brother and sister in law, William and Mary Guess of Morven, sisters in law, Ann Guess of Morven and Mary Webb of Savannah, her dog, Princess, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 4, 2006 at three p. m. at the Hahira United Methodist Church with Reverend Ken Morgan, Reverend Thomas Webb Hamilton and Reverend Lynn Hurley officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Condolences to the family may be expressed online at mclanefuneralservices.com.
