Allen L. Hill

Allen L. Hill, 59, of Valdosta, passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at South Georgia Medical Center with his family by his side, after a very long illness.

He was born September 19, 1953 in Valdosta, a son of Edwin and Ann McGauley Hill. Allen attended Glory Hill Cowboy Church, and had been employed at Owens-Illinois before becoming a Graphic Designer at Colonial Bag. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, fishing and NASCAR races.

In addition to his parents of Valdosta, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Joel Bailey of Valdosta; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Josh and Jennifer Hill of Lake Park, and Sam Zipperer of Athens; four grandchildren, Lauren Bailey, Joshua Hill, Emma Zipperer and Jake Zipperer; one sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Rick Crowe of Valdosta; one nephew, Jamie and wife Morgan Brooks of Lake Park; one great-niece, Dallas Brooks; and a special caregiver, Johnny Messimore of Valdosta. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Edgar and Lottie McGauley.

A graveside service for Allen will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Lake Park Cemetery, with Pastors Mike and Sunnie Bland officiating.
