Alice Pearl Taylor

December 19, 1918 — July 7, 2014

Alice Pearl Taylor, 95, of Hahira passed away on Monday, July 7, 2014 at Langdale Hospice House in Valdosta after being in declining health for several weeks. Mrs. Taylor was born in Howell, Georgia on December 19, 1918, the daughter of the late Staten and Alice Davis of Howell, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Taylor and a half sister, Jewel Valentine. She had lived in Hahira for many years and was one of Hahira's oldest living residents. She was a member and faithful supporter of the Hahira First Baptist Church since 1947.

In her community she was known for her love and caring and always put other first. She loved her family and friends and they meant so much to her and will be missed by all who knew her. Mrs. Taylor received her teaching degree from Georgia Southern College in Statesboro, Georgia and taught school for many years.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Sonny and Shirley Taylor of Hahira, daughter and son in law, Jan Taylor Quist and Ken Quist of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, her grandchildren, Scott (Denise) Taylor of Huntsville, AL, Alan (Traci) Taylor, Mitzi (Jason) Cain all of Hahira, Lalie Killingsworth of Tulsa, OK, Steve (Brooke) Blanton of Haihra, John Quist, Jonna Richardson both of Broken Arrow, OK, great grandchildren, Regan Taylor, Austin Taylor, Jordy Taylor, Cali Taylor, Luke Carney, Cameron Cain, Courtney Cain, Jasey Cain, Ashlie (Steve) Ptak, Amie Killingsworth, Chase Killingsworth, Savanna Rogers, Melanie Blanton, Taylor Blanton, Staten Blanton, Carter Blanton, Caroline Blanton, Israel Richardson, Lacie Richardson, Destiny Richardson, Christian Richardson, great great grandchildren, Lana Rae Taylor, Sadie Ptak, Tayler Ptak, a loving niece, Julaine Stockdill and her son, Robert of Valdosta, former grandson in law, Billy Killingsworth, her beloved caretaker, Judy Boykin and former caretaker, Louvenia Jackson along with many loving nieces.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Hahira First Baptist Church with Rev. David Gordon and Mr. Brant Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Hahira. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2014 from 6-8pm at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home.
