Alice M. Zorn, 76, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, December 1, 2004, after a short illness. Born in Bainbridge, to the late Charles Mulkey & Burma Austin, she had lived in Valdosta for the past 18 years, and had lived in Atlanta and Bainbridge previously. Mrs. Zorn was a retired cosmetologist and the former owner of Alice’s Beauty Shop in College Park, GA. She was known by her family and friends as an excellent cook and especially for her pound cakes. She was also known by her family as their beloved caretaker. She was a member of First Christian Church of Bainbridge.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, W.H. “Bud” Zorn, of Valdosta; an son and daughter in law, Walter & Carolyn Zorn, of Lincoln, IL; a daughter, Glenda Zorn of Valdosta; a sister and brother in law, Ann & Don Mason, of Valdosta. Also surviving are four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and two nephews, Mike Mason, and Robert Mason, both of Valdosta, and two great nieces.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 3, 2004, at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. Pastor Nelson Grist and Dr. Walt Zorn will officiate.
