Alice A. Baggett, 73, of Valdosta died on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. She was born on June 4, 1936 in Valdosta to the late Herman C. (Sam) and Lynda Sutton Amos and has been a lifelong resident here. She received her Masters degree from Valdosta State College and was a retired school teacher having taught at Cook County High School where she also served as the teacher advisor for the FBLA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. She was also a member and actively involved with the D.A.R. General James Jackson Chapter, the Valdosta Duplicate Bridge Club, Magnolia Garden Club of Valdosta, and the Retired Teachers Association.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Clark and Donna Stull of Macon; grandchildren, Spencer Stull of Macon, Skyler Stull of Dallas, TX and Tori and Tyler Baggett both of Gainesville, Fl.; step-grandchildren, Josh Logue and Whitney Sorkness both of Macon; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sandra and Pat Davis of Hahira and Jean Herns of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lt. Gerald Clark Stull and Larry Baggett; a son, Dr. Barton Baggett and a sister Linda Laverne Fender.
Services for Alice A. Baggett will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 13, 2010 in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Skip Van Nus officiating. The burial will follow in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
