Alex Edward (Ed) Cockman III, 67, of Valdosta passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018. He was born in Middletown, OH on October 14, 1950 to the late Alex Edward Cockman, Jr. and Janet Miriam Roehll Cockman. Ed was a pharmacist and co owner of Family Health Care. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Earlier in life Ed was a premed student at Miami University in Oxford, OH. He received his pharmacy degree from the University of GA and did his post graduate work at the Medical College of GA. His relaxation and enjoyment was his farm, he loved to hunt with his best friend, Rex Neal, loved to golf, always looked forward to Thursday lunch with Rex Neal, Alan, Ginny and Robby Catoe. Ed loved his family, God and his church.
He is survived by his wife, Alicia Daniel Cockman, daughter, Allison Michelle Cockman, grandson, Breton Daniel (Brett) Cockman all of Valdosta, sister, Cathy Paine of Middletown, OH, brother, Steve Cockman (Betsy) of Pittsboro, NC, nephews, Michael and Brian Paine, mother in law, Myrtice Daniel and sister in law, Helen Carlisle (Jim), all of Ocilla, brother in law, Ron Daniel of Tifton, nieces, Paige Crawford (John), Kristin Davis (Trey) and great niece, Kaelan Davis.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at two p. m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Bob Moon officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends from one until two p. m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to First United Methodist Church.
