Albert Thornton

Albert Thornton, Sr., 73, of Lake Park, died at his home on Sunday, June 3, 2007 after a lengthy illness. Born in 1933 he was the son of the late Oscar and Annie Mathis Thornton. Mr. Thornton was a retired Logger. He was a member of Statenville Church of God.

Survivors are his wife, Clair Thornton, son and daughter in law, Albert Jr., and Jean Thornton, daughter and son in law, Patricia and Charles Kirkland, son and daughter in law, Roy and Talisa Thornton, daughters and sons in law, Ginny and Todd Roop of Lake Park, Laura and Hugh Christie, Patsy and Marty Vann all of Lake Park; nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one great great grand child; brother and sister in law, Willie Lee and Nancy Thornton of Warner Robins; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at 2 p.m. at Sardis Baptist Church. Pastor Jaime Register will officiate. Burial will follow at Carter Cemetery.
