Albert Lee Kelley, 85, of Valdosta died on Monday, December 06, 2010 at the Presbyterian Home in Quitman following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 24, 1925 to the late John Wesley and Birdie Taylor Kelley in Baker County Florida. He was self-employed in the logging industry, and was a professional coyote trapper known by many as the "coyote man". Mr. Kelley was a Purple Heart recipient for injuries sustained while serving with the United States Army during WWII in the Battle of the Bulge. He was a devoted Florida Gator fan and was a member of Benevolence Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Faye Strange Kelley of Valdosta; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Tony and Paige Kelley of Madison and Keith Vocke of Valdosta; two daughters, Gail Meserve of Orlando, Florida and Patsy England of Madison, Florida; 7 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Townsend of Live Oak, Florida; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Maeo Kelley and Charles and Mattie Kelley all of Madison, Florida; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Kelley; a special friend and companion, Spencer. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his mother, Kate Kelley; a daughter, Sharron Edwards; a granddaughter, Michele England; two sisters, Laura Mae Townsend and Frances Kelley; three brothers, William Kelley, Austin Kelley and J.W. Kelley.
Services for Albert Lee Kelley will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Benevolence Baptist Church with Pastor David Paulk officiating. The burial will follow in the Benevolence Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the Carson McLane Funeral Home.
