Albert "Buddy" Thornton, Jr., 61 of Lake Park died Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Valdosta on September 26, 1953 to the late Albert, Sr. and Clair Thornton and was a lifelong resident of this area. He worked as a commercial truck driver for many years before going into the logging industry. Albert loved being outside working on things. His favorite pastime was CB Radios. He was known to many as "Logger" on the CB.
Survivors include his mother, Clair Thornton, his daughter and son in law, Misty and John Miller of Lake Park, his son, Timothy McIntosh of Live Oak, Fl, his grandchildren, Katherine Fletcher and J. T. Holifield, great grandchildren, Colin Ty Holifield and Caden Lee Holifield his brother, Roy L. Thornton of Lake Park, four sisters and three brothers in law, Patricia and Charles Kirkland, Ginny and Todd Roop, Laura Christie all of Lake Park, Patsy and Marty Vann of Valdosta. The family would like to thank his best friend and neighbor, Jay Williams.
Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Carter Cemetery with Elder Jim Sandlin officiating.
