Alan Wade Cothron, Sr.

Alan Wade Cothron, Sr., 59, of Valdosta, died on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Valdosta, on May 11, 1956, he was the son of Maxine Coody Cothron and the late James (Jim) Cothron. Mr. Cothron was a farmer and a member of the Georgia Farm Bureau Board. He was a member of Redland Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife, Karen Cooper Cothron of Valdosta; daughters and sons in law, Stacy and Jared Dickey of Valdosta, Katrina and Andrew Chaney of Valdosta; a son, Wade Cothron of Valdosta; his mother, Maxine Cothron also of Valdosta; grandchildren, Kayden Dickey, Rylen Dickey, Karley Gail Bruhl, Kipton Chaney all of Valdosta; sisters, JoAn Mathis of Dasher, Patsy and Gene Stewart , Becky Sims and Renee and Tommy Jackson all of Valdosta; and his loving canine companion, Gidget.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Redland Baptist Church at 11:00 o'clock a.m. Pastor Jay Watkins will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 10:00 o'clock a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
