Al Slocum

January 1, 1933 — May 28, 2007

Al Slocum, 73, of Milledgeville, died on Monday, May 28, 2007, at Ocoee Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Born in New Smyrna Beach, Florida in 1933 he was the son of the late Loyd and McRay Slocum. Mr. Slocum served with the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He loved to fish.

Survivors are a special friend, Sara Lingold of Milledgeville, a sister, Sylvia Slocum of Valdosta, a brother, Joe Slocum of Valdosta; sisters in law, Phoebie Slocum and Sara Slocum of Valdosta; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Slocum was preceded in death by his brothers, Carlton and Gene Slocum and a sister, Wilma Wilkerson.

Funeral services will be held at the graveside at Sunset Hill Cemetery on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 11 a.m. Reverend Bob Willis will officiate. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6 – 8 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanefuneralservices.com.
