Agnes Wheelis Swilley

Agnes Wheelis Swilley, 95, of Valdosta, passed away on Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was born on September 22, 1922 in Ocilla, GA to the late Hollis D. Wheelis and Elise Horton Wheelis. Mrs. Swilley was a retired LPN at Moody AFB. She was a member of the Abundant Life Church of God. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Mrs. Swilley is survived by her children Sylvia Ann Nitschke of Valdosta, Gary Hollis Swilley of Dawsonville, GA, Cynthia Gail Blanton, of Lakeland, Linda Sue Cumbess of Valdosta, and Zane Allen Swilley of Savannah, GA; nine grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; her sisters Jeannette Culpepper of Lake Park, and Grace McBrayer of Tifton, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband P.F. Swilley, her sisters Wyolene King, Ira Clements, Reba McDonald, her brothers Cherald Wheelis and Martin Wheelis.
A funeral service for Mrs. Swilley will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at the Abundant Life Church of God with Bro. Wayne Hughes officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:30-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Gideon’s.
