Agnes Millirons Daugharty

Agnes M. Daugharty, 82, of Valdosta departed this life on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Lakehaven Nursing Home in Valdosta. Agnes was born on September 30, 1927 in Hahira, Georgia. She attended Hahira Schools and graduated from Hahira High School in 1944. Agnes was employed by Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph (Bell South) for twenty years where she was a telephone operator and service assistant. She continued to be a member of the Telephone Pioneers for many years after her retirement. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.

Agnes is survived by her ever faithful and devoted husband, Willis Daugharty of Valdosta, her loving daughter and son in law, Brenda and Mike Bland of Valdosta, her grandchildren, Jason Bland of Atlanta, GA and Catherine Bland and her fiancé, Matt Elrod of Lawrenceville, GA., her brothers and sisters in law, Carroll and Marsha Millirons, Freddy Millirons, Dick Millirons and Doris (Mrs. Ralph) Millirons all of Hahira, brothers in law and sisters in law, Bruce Daugharty, Ralph and Juanita Daugharty all of Howell, Seward and Janice Daugharty of Stockton and nieces, nephews and great nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Erma and Mamie Millirons, brothers and sister in law, Junior Millirons, Bobby and Helen Millirons, Ralph Millirons and a nephew, Tony Millirons.

Funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Alford and Rev. Charlie Scarborough officiating. Burial will follow in McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-7pm at the funeral home.
