Adeline Landrum

February 26, 1921 — September 4, 2005

ADELINE LANDRUM, 84, of Hahira died Sunday, September 4, 2005 at the Lakehaven Nursing Home. She was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on February 26, 1921 to the late Rader and Margaret Smith Gross and had lived in Dayton, Ohio before moving to Hahira thirty years ago. Mrs. Landrum was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church and was a retired payroll clerk for the City of Dayton, Ohio. She was a member of the Eastern Star, co-founder of the Hahira Honey Bee Festival and had served as its chairman for the past several years. Mrs. Landrum had been a Pink Lady at Smith Hospital and loved to travel and had traveled to all fifty states.

Survivors include a son and daughter in law, William Q. and Pat Landrum of Germantown, OH., a grandson and his wife, Dwight and Teri Landrum of Miamisburg, OH., two great grandchildren, Alison Landrum and Joshua Landrum, a sister and brother in law, Eleanor and Norman C. Weiffenbach of Hahira, two brothers and sisters in law, Gene and Janice Gross of Dayton, OH., Russell and Peggy Gross of Radcliff, KY., nieces, Sally Turner of Tampa, Fla., Sheree Weiffenbach of Valdosta and Terri Spears of Atlanta, GA., She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Landrum and two sisters, Virginia Turner and Mary Lois Boggs.

Funeral services will be held at 10am, Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in the chapel of Martin/McLane Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Honey Bee Festival Committee or to the Bethany Baptist Church.
