Mrs. Ada Carolyn Johnson Boles, 86, of Valdosta, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2019, at the Langdale Hospice House. She was born on August 10, 1932 to the late John Morgan and Mary Hines Johnson. After graduation, Mrs. Bole’s attended Andrew’s Women’s College where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts. After returning to Brooks County she was employed with civil service at Moody Air Force Base. There is where she met the love of her life, Leo F. Boles, Sr. They were married on June 26, 1955. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. Many knew Mrs. Boles as a “social butterfly” because she never met a stranger. After 41 years with civil service, she began enjoying activities with friends and family. She became a member of The Red Hats, The Strummers, MAFB Lunch Bunch, and group called “Until We Eat Again” and a member of Eastern Star where she was an officer for many years. She enjoyed reading, watching movies, spending time with her family and taking trips with her traveling friends. She was a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons. Leo (Marie) Boles, Jr., of Valdosta, George Boles, of Valdosta, her granddaughter, Teresa (Chris) Barnhill, of McDonough, and grandson Jonathan (Ashleigh) Webb, of Statenville. She has five great grandchildren, Alexis, Gavin, Collin, Austin, and Landan, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Frederick Boles, Sr. and her sister Angelyn Simpson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 11, 2019 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of the Carson McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Stokes and Rev. Jim Schappaugh officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
