Robert William (Bill) Begue

Robert William (Bill) Begue, 72, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Langdale Hospice House.

He was born September 15, 1943 in Lake City, Florida, a son of Myrtice Mathis Begue and the late Robert Joseph Begue. Bill was employed for thirty-five years with State Farm, retiring in 2005 as a Claims Representative. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. Bill enjoyed reading, good conversation and cooking; he was a loving and giving person and loved family gatherings. Bill had a great sense of humor. In his earlier years, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping and hunting.

He is survived by his wife of fifteen years, Carolyn Hall Begue of Valdosta; four sons and three daughters-in-law, William Patrick Begue and Rachel of St. Petersburg, FL, William Robert Begue of Lake Park, Mikell (Matt) Begue and Kathy of Hahira, and Jonathan James Begue and Melissa of Wilmington, NC; three step-daughters, Lori Delaine Martin of Atlanta, Darla Alane Martin Fain and husband Jeff of Cumming, and Leslie Martin Kellerman of Lawrenceville; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his mother, Myrtice Mathis Begue of Macclenny, FL; one brother, James Roy Begue and wife Jan of Tallahassee, FL; one niece and one nephew.

The Funeral Service for Mr. Begue will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home, with Rev. Fred Foster officiating. Interment will be at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
