Patrick (Pat) Lyle Nichols

Patrick (Pat) Lyle Nichols, 68, of Hahira, died on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Langdale Hospice House following a lengthy illness. He was born on April 7, 1955, in Hahira to the late Charles Elmo Nichols, Sr., and Janelle Griffis Nichols and has been a lifelong resident of this area. Pat served as the Vice-President of Finance for the Boys and Girls Club of Valdosta for 24 years. He was a graduate of Lowndes County High School and attended Valdosta State College and Valdosta Tech (Vo Tech). Pat enjoyed and was passionate about many things in life. He loved spending time with Corey on the boat, discussing history, music and movies with Amber, and long rides on the golf cart with his beloved grandchildren. He found the greatest joy in being GranPat to Bailey and Nolan. Pat was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan and had many wonderful adventures with his children attending The Who concerts, and other various music groups.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gail Bailey Nichols of Hahira; his son, Corey Nichols (Melyssa Waites) of Valdosta; daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Brandon Hodges of Hahira; his grandchildren, Bailey Hodges and Nolan Hodges; his sisters, Lyn Stalvey of Hahira, and Lisa (Dwayne) Joyner of Cleveland, TN; numerous nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded by his brother, Charles Elmo Nichols, Jr., and his parents-in-law, Chester L. (Jack) Bailey and Ophelia Raines Bailey.

Services for Pat Nichols will be held on Friday, June 30, 2023, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Martin/McLane Funeral Home with Rev. Ike Jefferson and Mr. Steve Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the Martin/McLane Funeral Home.
